Workshop Series Three – June 2025

Workshop three

In June 2025, HSJ Advisory ran a roundtable event, bringing together key pharmacy stakeholders to debate and discuss the value of medicines in the patient pathway. Of particular focus was understanding patient centric access to medicines and how to ensure that services are delivered with patients in mind.

This white paper explores the pivotal role of medicines within the patient pathway and challenges the current system to become more patient-centric, integrated, and outcome driven. It synthesises findings from a 2025 expert roundtable facilitated by HSJ Advisory and sponsored by Aspire Pharma, drawing on experiences across primary care, secondary care, community pharmacy, and industry.

The paper provides key insights, identifies systemic barriers and offers strategic recommendations. It also looks at aspirations for an NHS of the future and highlights calls to actions for NHS leaders and industry stakeholders.
